Master Technicians right at your doorstep
OMW Mobile actually got its start over 25 years ago when a Native Texan and former University of Texas at Austin student, decided to choose a different path. At the time John had already got his hands dirty working at a lube center in San Antonio, Texas. Throughout his college years he began learning and earning to pay the bills.
Starting at Pep Boys and then Brake Check, he learned some of the basics of auto repair and maintenance. His natural aptitude led him to commit to this craft for the rest of his working life. Throughout the following decades, he invested in tools and training while working for several of Austins most iconic shops.
His experience grew the following years as he worked for shops including Leonards Garage, Genie Lube, Ben White Auto, Colvin Automotive, Groovy Automotive, Protech Automotive and most recently Yost Automotive. Through the challenges brought forth by this variety of specialty and performance shops, he continued to hone his skills through hands-on experience, continuing education and ASE certification.
Currently John holds IMACA/MACS certification, in addition to being a re-certified ASE Master technician, including a diesel vehicle certification. In the past he also served as a state inspector, skilled welder and more recently serviced vehicles for TXDOT, the APD and Executive duty vehicles for the DPS.

Full Vehicle Diagnostics

Upon arrival or technicians are ready to help. Every service call includes a complimentary full system code scan on your vehicle. Our computerized interface reads faults codes on all supported modules and details historical, current and pending codes. This first step is an incredible way to expedite the diagnostic process. After we log and detail these codes we will present you with a strategy based on your needs and budget.
By design a check engine light will either blink or flash or stay on steadily. Both modes are great indicators of the severity of your problem. A flashing light means your cars computer seeing is a misfiring cylinder that can damage your cars catalytic converter. If you are experiencing a flashing engine light we highly recommend calling us out right away rather than attempting to drive your vehicle. If you have ever inquired, you may already know the catalytic converter is one of the single most expensive parts on your engine.

We are happy to look over an estimate to show you what can wait and what needs immediate attention. We also encourage customers to provide their desired parts. This saves you money and ensures that your preferred parts are used on your vehicle.
Not sure what to get or where? We can also send you links to the exact parts needed or provide them ourselves.
Did you know that most shops actually increase your labor rates on your provided parts? Sadly it's a common industry practice but not at OMW, we won't penalize you for trying to save a buck!

Started having problems with my cars AC but I put it off due to cooler weather. Now that it’s getting hot, I decided to look around and saw good reviews for OMW so I sent a message. John was straightforward about his thoughts and I decided to take my car to him to get it diagnosed. He was super friendly and went into detail with each step of his diagnostics of my cars AC. After getting it looked at, he recommended me next steps and was not pushy about anything. I was able to schedule a fix around both of our availabilities. The day of the fix, I was greeted and told the eta and plan of what will happen. At the end, he was able to get my AC repaired! I’m very thankful for the great communication, detail, and passion John has for working on cars. Highly recommend to give him a call/message.
